The PERFECT stopover in Colombo from just £50 per night Dove Cottage is a lovely newly built 1-2 double bedroomed house situated in a quiet, peaceful area in the suburbs of Colombo. Mirihana adjoins the townlet of Nugegoda which contains good shopping areas and eating houses. The city centre and the beach are both about 20 minutes away. The house has a Mediterranean feel and is comfortably and stylishly furnished with local hand made furniture and furnishings. Guests have use of the 40 ft swimming pool which is regularly cleaned and maintained by the manufacturers. The pool is also used by the occupants of the adjoining property. One balconied, air-conditioned bedroom is located on the first floor, with its en suite shower room containing wash hand basin with mirror and shaver socket, toilet, bidet and open shower with solar heated hot water. The downstairs sitting room can be converted into a second air-conditioned double bedroom with the same facilities. The two rooms are also fitted with ceiling fans.

Upstairs - a very pleasant terrace sitting area with plants, chairs, table and sun lounger can be used as a secluded area for sunbathing or for drinks in the evening. The downstairs verandah can also be used for sitting out. A wrought iron table and chairs make it suitable for al fresco dining and tats provide additional shade and atmosphere. The comfortable sitting room contains a 9 channel television and 2 telephones with facilities for making international calls and for using the Internet. The garden has several large mature trees which provide shade during the day and which are visited by golden orioles, parakeets, mynahs, bulbuls, kingfishers, herons, red headed woodpeckers and tiny tits and humming birds. Owls and bats visit at night and the trees twinkle with the lights of fireflies on most evenings. |

A fitted kitchen offers seating for six and contains a refrigerator, gas/electric cooker, electric kettle and microwave oven. Sufficient crockery and cutlery are provided for up to 12 people. Meals and parties can be catered for if requested at time of booking and extra chairs, crockery etc brought in (payment in local currency). A washing machine is available for the convenience of guests, however a washing and ironing service is available at local rates and can also be arranged. A cleaner comes in daily to sweep, tidy and wash the premises. Bed linen and towels are changed regularly. Guests will need to bring their own pool towels.

The deposit can be paid via our secure server or via bank transfer. Customers must pay all bank charges in the case of a bank transfer. Balance payment to be paid directly to Dove Cottage 10 weeks prior to arrival in Sri Lanka. UK bank details to be given once booking is confirmed. For bookings within 10 weeks of arrival, 100% of rental cost to be paid upon confirmation. Cancellation Policy The deposit is non refundable. The final payment is only refundable if a replacement booking can be found. |
