The Malabar House is a unique Dutch merchant's house, located in the heart of The Fort in Galle. Elegantly furnished with delightful pieces from all over Asia, the house is perfect for families. The high walls allow gentle sea breezes to flow through the house providing shelter from the midday heat. There is a lovely courtyard with a pool surrounded by greenery and a large terrace for sunbathing, dining or just relaxing. The Malabar House is an idyllic romantic hideaway for honeymooners or for enjoyment by families with children who can safely explore The Fort. This walled city, in Galle, offers you a wonderful escape to the bygone era of the colonial rule in Sri Lanka. The Fort seems to be one of the few places in Sri Lanka that has retained its old world charm. A holiday to Sri Lanka is simply not complete unless you have spent time in Galle. The Malabar House is a natural choice.... Just a short stroll from the villa are some great restaurants. For the beach lovers, nearby is Unawatuna - voted the prettiest bay in the World with safe swimming and snorkelling. Please note, parents need to be aware of the pool with small children.

There are 3 double bedrooms all with air-conditioning. The master bedroom with en-suite facilities is located upstairs, by the roof terrace, and all other bedrooms are downstairs facing the pool and courtyard. There is a further smaller bedroom off one of the double bedrooms with a bunk bed, ideal for 2 children. There are two shower rooms located on the ground floor between the 2 bedrooms. This villa is perfect for 2 families with children sharing, or even a group of friends (3 couples). The Malabar House can accommodate 6 adults and 2 children.

There is a lovely large living area and dining room downstairs elegantly furnished with Asian artefacts. The living areas lead to the courtyard and pool making this villa very cool and airy. There is a DVD player and stereo system for guest entertainment. The wonderful roof terrace with seating is a perfect retreat in the evenings where you can sip cocktails and gaze at the stars around you. You can even get a glimpse of the sea from the terrace. |

A modern fully equipped kitchen including fridge/freezer, bottled water dispenser, dishwasher, cooker and washing machine is at your disposal. Breakfast is included in the rate and consists of pastries and fresh fruit. The villa does not come with a cook, however one can be arranged at extra cost. Please let us know if you require a cook when you submit the Availability Form. The nearby Galle Fort Hotel is an ideal and picturesque venue for your meals, it produces some excellent dishes perfectly suited to the western pallet. There is daily maid service and a house boy to clean the pool and generally look after the villa. Towels and linen are provided.

Rates 4th Jan-28th Feb: £207 per night for villa 1st-31st March: £145 per night for villa 1st Apr-30th Sep: £130 per night for villa 1st Oct-30th Nov: £145 per night for villa 18th Dec-3rd Jan: £230 per night for villa Payment Policy A 50% deposit is payable upon confirmation of your booking. The deposit can be paid via our secure server or via bank transfer. Customers must pay all bank charges in the case of a bank transfer. Balance payment to be paid directly to Malabar House 10 weeks prior to arrival. Details to be given once booking is confirmed. Cancellation Policy The deposit is non refundable. |
