The Last House is the last private house designed by Sri Lanka's foremost architect, the late Geoffrey Bawa. It is an elegant private villa set on one of the most beautiful and unspoilt beaches of Sri Lanka. Located in Tangalle, the Last House provides total peace and tranquillity in a stunning and exotic setting. It is a perfect beach retreat for a large group or an extended family. The design of the house is ideal for family reunions with central living and dining areas for socialising. Some of the bedrooms are located in the main house (upstairs) and some are located off the courtyard on the ground floor. This layout offers perfect privacy for when you need it. It is a large property with 5 ensuite bedrooms, a large dining room, living areas indoors and out, and a lovely emerald pool located in the courtyard. The gardens are large, dotted with coconut trees, and lead to an almost private beach.

There are 5 large bedrooms all with ensuite bathrooms. The courtyard bedrooms enjoy indoor/outdoor bathrooms with plants and the sky for company! All beds are 4-poster draped with white netting; polished cement floors and fans overhead. The bathrooms are large and rustic in style with cement sinks. Two of the bedrooms are located downstairs approached via the courtyard. The bedrooms located in the main house lead to a large balcony and enjoy stunning views of the ocean.

There is a lovely indoor living area with doors opening on to an outdoor living area. With colourful cushions, contemporary furniture and some wonderful pieces of art. The owners of The Last House, have created a stunning home. The large dining room with a huge dining table faces the garden and the ocean beyond..breathtaking... The garden is also dotted with sun lounges and other seats for you to enjoy a book or two. |

The villa is fully staffed. The manager is Ananda and speaks fluent English. He is a charming young man and will take excellent care of you. He is assisted by an army of staff. You will want for nothing. Meals are provided on an all-inclusive basis. The cost is US$50 per head per day and includes ALL meals and drinks (including alcohol). You can discuss your preferences / dietary requirements with Ananda.

Payment Policy A 15% deposit is payable upon confirmation of your booking. The deposit can be paid via our secure server or via bank transfer. Customers must pay all bank charges in the case of a bank transfer. A further payment of 35% is payable directly to The Last House. Sri Lanka bank details to be given once booking is confirmed. Balance payment of 50% to be paid directly to The Last House 2 weeks prior to arrival in Sri Lanka. For bookings within 2 weeks of arrival, 100% of rental cost to be paid upon confirmation. Cancellation Policy The deposit is non refundable. |
